LAPD Police Officer Fired For Watching "Straight Outta Compton" Film

LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles Police Department officer was reportedly fired after he went to the movies to see the new “Straight Outta Compton” movie Saturday night.

Marcus Glen, age 34, was fired Sunday morning upon arriving at work at around 9:00 a.m., Marcus began talking to fellow colleagues about the “Straight Outta Compton” film as soon as he arrived from work. “He seemed to be very interested and impacted by the movie”, says LAPD officer Freddy Bloom, who was present when Glen was fired, “Chief wasn’t to thrilled about Marcus talking about the movie, you know. This NWA guys were all about anti-police and gang activities” finished Bloom.

The film “Straight Outta Compton” is based on the story of early gangsta rap group ‘N.W.A’ and their rise to popularity. N.W.A was led by Compton rapper Eazy-E, who tragically died of AIDS in 1995. Other members includes rappers Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, MC Ren, and DJ Yella. N.W.A was known for their explicit gang-style music and their hate for police. Famous N.W.A songs are “Straight Outta Compton, “F*ck Tha Police”, and “Appetite For Destruction”.

Glen was later confronted by the Chief as to why he went to go see “A film about police hating gang rappers”. The chief also reportedly said “I can’t stand those rappers, that Dr Dre guy isn’t even a f*cking doctor for Christ’s sake. And that Ice Cube guy isn’t even a f*cking ice cube”, At that point he fired Marcus.
