LOS ANGELES – After a week since TMZ posted a a recorded audio of Los Angeles Clipper owner Donald Sterling saying racist remarks to his mistress, the NBA and commissioner Adam Silver has now banned Sterling from the NBA and are forcing The Clippers to be sold to a new owner.
The situation has caused chaos amongst NBA fans and even non-NBA fans. Besides banning Sterling, the NBA also fined Sterling $2.5 Million dollars.
“Under the lifetime ban, Sterling is prohibited from attending games or practices, stepping foot inside any Clippers’ facility, taking part in business or personnel decisions, or having a role in league activities such as attending NBA Board of Governors meetings.”
Sterling is now being forced to sell The Clippers by the NBA. Sterling bought the Clippers for $12 Million dollars in 1981 and is now worth about $575 Millions dollars according to Forbes Magazine.
