HOLLYWOOD – Moments after winning his long awaited first Oscar award for Best Actor in the 88th annual Academy awards, It is being reported that Leonardo DiCaprio dropped and broke his precious Oscar award while leaving the Dolby Theater where the Oscars were being held.

Leonardo DiCaprio, one of the greatest actors of his time, has finally won an Oscar award. Leonardo won the Best Actor award for his role in the film ‘The Revenant’. Upon winning, He gives a shout out to Tom Hardy, who grins from the crowd; director Alejandro Iñárritu; Michael Caton-Jones, the first director to cast him in a film; as well as the predictable ones, i.e. his team and his parents.

According to reports, Leonardo DiCaprio was leaving the building with the award in his hand, when suddenly Leo decides to hold up the award to a nearby camera. Apparently Leo did not have a good grip on the award, and the momentum of him raising his arm caused the golden statuette to go flying a few feet, breaking in cracking in 3 parts as it landed on the concrete floor. According to reports, Leo immediately got on his knees and began to cry.

It is very unlikely that the Academy awards will send Leonardo a replacement, as a limited number statuettes are made for the awards. “And this is why he never won until today”, Academy awards president Cheryl Boone Isaacs told reporters at the scene. Currently, Fellow actors and actresses have gathered to console Leonardo for his broken Oscar award.
